AT A GLANCE

Influencing people to click or connect is big business. Building and targeting an audience is a creative process.

Social media has grown into a phenomenon that a generation of youth can claim as normal. Now it's here to stay with a wild west of "anything goes". But for those of us working as Influencers in a non-profit capacity, there is a responsibility to represent a topic with integrity – and our team never wavered in their ability to be super funny or informative within ethical standards. After all, creating posts and attempting to sway how people feel carries with it a sense of power that should be honored and treated fairly.


For the Project Management Institute - Los Angeles, I revamped their lagging social media strategy by implementing tools to craft 10–15 quality campaigns per month, bolstering customer engagement and event attendance, while shooting website traffic up 30% - a real win and always nice to see results.


This meant creating and tracking campaigns, aligning them to support events, and managing a monthly calendar to deliver messaging to 2500+ members with a 30-60% click rate. This effort included messages with a motivational, inspiring, or somehow interesting view, in order to influence a reader to attend an event or webinar.


It also included monitoring platform metrics, Google Analytics, and CMS data, yielding dozens of customer insights and helping to cultivate year-over-year membership growth.
